Over-sprayed foam sealing the eaves
Why it happens here
In Heworth's shallow post-war lofts, foam was often sprayed right to the edge of the roof, sealing the only ventilation gap. Without airflow, moisture from the house condenses on the cold roof surface and soaks into the timbers.
Our approach
We clear the eaves first and remove foam in sections so we can inspect the timber behind it. Before we leave, we restore the ventilation gap so the loft can dry out properly rather than just being emptied.
